David Carl Curtis, age 47, of Casey, IL passed away surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Heath Center, Mattoon, IL. He was born on September 21, 1977 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of James Carrol Curtis and Vicki Diane (Birchfield) Curtis.
Survivors include his grandmother, Betty Birchfield of Casey, IL; sisters, Michelle Curtis of Casey, IL and Betty Jean Sewell (Mike Richardson) of Martinsville, IL; nephews and nieces, Cody Curtis, Austin Curtis, Darrian Hires, Tyler Sewell, Bethany Sewell and Jay Sewell; great nephew and niece, Jaxon and Kai; uncles and aunts, Tracy Birchfield (Ginger), Jeanie Ingram (Gary), Linda Layton (Chris), Janet Lawhorn, Beverly Reisner (Bruce) and Tina Curtis Thompson; many cousins; his puppy companion, Shawndee; and his many friends, coworkers and all the management staff at Richard's Farm Restaurant, especially Diane for all her love and support throughout the years.
