Melissa Jean Ragsdale, age 54, of Martinsville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 9, 2024 at her home. She was born January 1, 1970 in Effingham, IL the daughter of Martin Dwain Goldman and Marilyn Jeanette (Schafer) Goldman.
Survivors include her mother, Marilyn Cox of Casey, IL; children, Nathan Lampley of Martinsville, IL; Austin Ragsdale (Haley) of Casey, IL; Myra Ragsdale (Kevin) of Mattoon, IL; Jared Ragsdale of Casey, IL and Jenna Ragsdale of Casey, IL; granddaughter, Harper Ragsdale of Casey, IL; brother, Jason Cox of Casey, IL; her neighbors, friends and her faithful dog and companion, Echo. She was preceded in death by her father, Martin D. Goldman; stepfather, Donald Cox and the father of her children, Michael Wesley Ragsdale.
Melissa was a 1988 graduate of Casey High School. She continued her education graduating with her Licensed Practical Nurse degree. She worked at Heartland Manor for many years. Melissa enjoyed opening up her house to her friends and family
