Ruth Ann Shobe, age 81, of Terre Haute, IN formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN. She was born August 2, 1942 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Harry Estle McAninch and Lois Jean (Brown) McAninch. On August 27, 1971 she married Max Leon Shobe in Paris, IL. They shared 51 years of marriage before he passed away on March 5, 2023.
Survivors include her son, Matthew Leon Shobe and his wife Katherine of VA; daughter, Ellen Elizabeth Taylor and her husband Dan of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Max Taylor and Eli Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Nancy Joan Seolea.
Ruth Ann was a 1961 graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute, IN. She retired from the Social Security Administration in Terre Haute, IN and Effingham, IL after a 27 year career. Ruth Ann was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey, IL.
