Kathleen Ann (Golden) Smolenski-Briggs, age 64, of Terre Haute, IN passed away at 2:03 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born September 12, 1959 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of John George Golden and Linda Lee (O'Conner) Golden.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Briggs of Terre Haute, IN; sister, Debra Golden (Michael Star) of Shaker Heights, OH; brother, Thomas Golden of Champaign, IL; stepdaughters, Brittany Marie Nicholas (Ben) of Carmel, IN and Emily Katherine McQuilkin-Briggs of Terre Haute, IN and her beloved nephews and nieces Kelly(Ted), Neil, Brad(Clara), Lincoln, Olivia and Mary. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Linda Golden; brother, Lester Golden; husband, David Smolenski and her dog, Moose.
Kathy was a 1977 graduate of Lincoln Way High School in New Lenox, IL. She worked for the US Government Census Bureau. Kathy was fun loving, big hearted and will be missed by many friends.
