George Kenneth Sowers, age 64, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:13 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. He was born June 3, 1960 in Lafayette, IN the son of Donald Eugene Sowers and Dorothy Marie "Trudy" Sheets Sowers. On April 25, 1999 he married Connie Marie Craig in Casey, IL; she passed away on January 1, 2005. Later, George and Patty Benz committed to each other in 2022 in Champaign, IL.
Survivors include his companion Patty Benz in Champaign, IL; "special daughter," Briana Jo Seaney of Casey, IL; step children, Charles Dooley of Champaign, IL; Kenny Craig (Daniele) of Casey, IL; Jason Dooley of Casey, IL; brother, Dennis Sowers of Newtown, IN; sisters, Lamona McMullin of Attica, IN and Debbie McKinney of Wingota, IN; several grandchildern and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Connie Sowers and son, Kenneth Sowers.
