Jerry Ray Brashear, 56, of rural Heathsville, IL, passed away and was found at home on May 10, 2024. Born on September 21, 1967, in Sullivan, IN, Jerry's life was a testament to the joy of embracing each day with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. He grew up in the Palestine/Heathsville areas and was a proud 1985 graduate of Palestine High School. His early career led him to work at Rural King, but it was his time at Briggs Pottery that he cherished most. Despite the intense heat of the pottery, Jerry thrived in the environment and was deeply saddened by its closure in December of 1999. The tail-end of his career found him at Hershey, working in the Milk Dud, Whopper, and Reese production departments.
He was a man who never met a stranger, always ready to strike up a conversation and connect with anyone and everyone. His charisma was such that he could even convince a stranger that they had met before. This gift of gab was part of Jerry's charm and a trait that endeared him to many.
